Bathroom Suite Remodel/ Timeless Contemporary – B. & L.

The Buckingham Group’s initial project converted our shared children’s bathroom into two separate bathrooms. Impressed by their creative reallocation of space, we asked them to design a new master bath and closet suite. The addition fulfilled our wish list. Its unique design included his and her vanities, custom closets and individualized stool compartments. A cathedral ceiling outfitted with four skylights has provided us with a way to enjoy the beauty of the night sky, while maintaining privacy. We have subsequently engaged The Buckingham Group to convert our garage into a home theater, remodel the kitchen, and add a new garage and mother in law suite. Their creativity coupled with quality workmanship and outstanding service, presents a combination that you will find difficult to replicate.

Project: Basement Remodel Stairway – Dick & Janetta

The stairway to our basement was showing its age. Stair treads were worn, balusters broken and the railing on one side had mysteriously disappeared. You removed and replaced all stair treads, replicated and replaced the intricately carved balusters and then installed a new custom railing whose profile matched that of theoriginal railing. We congratulate you for not only delivering as promised but for the design and restoration work that was done.

Project: Basement Cast Stone Fireplace – Dick & Janetta

The original fireplace, was lacking a mantle and had an unattractive brick facade, surrounding a shallow depth firebox. The wood windows, were set in deteriorating brick window wells, and had rotted out over the years. The window well drains were inoperative as they had collapsed with age. As part of the restoration of our basement, you totally rebuilt the window wells, installed a new drain system, replaced the windows and installed a new cast stone fireplace surround. The moldings were custom fabricated to replicate the originals. We have had nothing but complements on the workmanship and how quickly the project was completed.

Project: Basement Bookcase – Dick & Janetta

With restoration of the basement completed you were able to solve our book storage dilemma by creating a combination bookcase and media center for the west wall of the basement. Fabricated from walnut, it provides an attractive and functional addition to what has now become an entertainment center for family and friends. The concealed LED lighting built into the bookcase frame will allow us to easily read the names of books that we have stored.. The lower cabinets with pull out shelving provide generous storage and ease of access for games and puzzles . Thank you for converting this previously unused space into a social center for our family.

 Project: Complete Home Remodel – Gerry & Betsy

As impressed as we were with the design of the remodel, we were equally impressed with the execution on the plan by all of your employees and subcontractors. The care and consideration your employees showed throughout the construction in not only their workmanship, but also in small details such as cleaning up the job site every night, allowed us to live through the remodel with far less disruption. You took our house which had aluminum windows surrounded by massive cedar beams and converted it into an awesome estate. While retaining its original architectural lines the Buckingham Group replaced and relocated the windows with Pella’s Architectural Window system. You surrounded the windows with custom cast stone trim. A new cast stone front porch was added to create a focal point for the home. Architectural detail was added to the roof line with custom copper dormers. The creative and intricately synchronized remodel was undertaken without a hitch. You turned our house into a home.  Project: Estate Courtyard – Ken & Vickie

There is nothing more soothing than the sound of running water. The architecturally unique courtyard and fountain that you designed and installed provides tranquilizing background noise for guests in our adjoining dining room.. Above and beyond the water feature, the courtyard adds an entire element of visual interest to the end of the house. Neighbors and friends still comment on the design and how well organized the installation of the courtyard was. The best recommendation that we can provide is that as a result of the successful exterior renovation we have authorized the complete redesign and remodel of the interior of our home.

 Project: Period Correct Home Addition –

Our home was built in 1932 in a traditional Tudor style. You added a second story addition over the sunroom that perfectly matched the two different stucco textures, the multicolored slate roof and the windows. The addition provided us with a home office and an additional master closet. As part of the remodel you completely redesigned the floor space and remodeled our bathroom, our daughter’s bathroom and subsequently our kitchen, Your final remodel converted the attic space into an independent living area with bedroom, bathroom and living room. You then installed a complete new heating and air conditioning system providing us with three separate zones of heating and cooling – a welcome relief from the one zone system it replaced. Our home was constructed in 1928 and after 84 years the front porch was not only showing its age, but in desperate need of repair. The Buckingham Group restored the porch in all of its intricate details. They carefully removed and identified all of the original components and rebuilt it using the materials specified in the original drawings. The attention to detail by their staff is outstanding.
